What began as a traffic stop by Ozaukee County Sheriff’s deputies ended with the arrest of a Milwaukee man following a search by air and ground.
The stop began on I-43 near Ozaukee County Highway “C” after the vehicle was observed speeding and without a license plate. The vehicle exited on Pioneer Road and stopped at a nearby gas station where the driver fled on foot. A passenger remained on the scene and was detained.
After recruiting multiple agencies to assist, a search perimeter was established and with drone teams in the air and K9 units combing the grounds nearby, 38-year-old Mario Beltran of Milwaukee was located in a field northwest of the initial traffic stop.
Beltran, the driver, was arrested for OWI 1st Offense, Obstructing, and Possession of THC. Beltran also had active arrest warrants from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office as well as from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
The passenger, 29-year-old Tori Henderson of Milwaukee was issued a citation for Obstructing after providing a false name to law enforcement.
