Road Closed Sign
Major highway projects in Sheboygan County are progressing, with both Highways 28 and 32 appearing to be on-schedule for now.
The Highway 28 Bridge Replacement in Cascade is nearing completion with storm sewer installation and grading of the road there scheduled this week. Crews are now starting to mill and pave Highway 28 at the south county line and will work their way northward toward eventual completion at Waldo.
Highway 32 remains closed to through traffic between Cedar Grove and County Highway “V” with box culvert replacements the main focus. One north of Gibbsville has been completed and the roadway reopened to local traffic at that point. Another culvert south of Wilson-Lima road is being constructed this week, and the contractor is now staging repaving materials and equipment near Highway “G” at Cedar Grove where another box culvert will be replaced.
Elsewhere, DOT crews will be repairing cable guards on eastbound Highway 23 near the airport at County “TT” on both Wednesday and Thursday this week between 9 AM and 3 PM, with lane closures used for traffic control.
