The American Red Cross is urging all donors to give blood or platelets now to keep the blood supply strong this summer. The organization says that both everyday emergencies, and severe weather such as the large-scale disaster of the Texas floods, can all strain the supply and delay scheduled donation drives. Type-O is the most in demand on hospital shelves, but all types are needed. And if you don’t know your blood type now – you will after donating.
Besides knowing you could save a life, the Red Cross is adding another incentive to donate by offering an exclusive pair of customizable Red Cross “X-gooder” sunglasses while supplies last for those donating now through July 14th. Those donating from the 15th to the 21st will receive a Fandango Movie Reward by email.
