(WHBL) – September 1st is National Poll Worker Recruitment Day, and Wisconsin’s Elections Commission is using the opportunity to issue its call for workers to come forward.
The coronavirus pandemic has kept many poll workers at home since many are older and more vulnerable to the virus. In the August 11 Partisan Primary, for example, clerks in 40 counties and 141 municipalities were more than 700 workers short.
Meagan Wolfe, Wisconsin’s chief election official, said, “If you are a state, county or municipal employee, a student or someone who is looking for temporary work, municipal clerks need you to make a difference.”
Anyone wishing to sign up should contact their municipal clerk’s office or visit the MyVote Wisconsin website: https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/
