Forecasters are downgrading the likely effects of a weekend snow event, with expectations now trending toward a rather manageable snowfall in Sheboygan County. To the north, however, accumulations could pose significant problems.
First, though, no trouble is expected this Friday, but snow could begin falling shortly after midnight. The greatest snowfall rates – and they’re not all that great – will likely be during Saturday afternoon, then tapering off to end by midnight. Totals are expected to average 3 inches in Sheboygan County, lowest to the south and higher to the north where travel trouble is likely.
Because of the chance for between 4 and 7 inches of snow, a Winter Storm Watch was posted for Manitowoc and Calumet Counties and points to the north and west. But locally, there are no advisories in effect, and mostly quiet but significantly colder weather will hold sway into early next week.
