Sheboygan City Administrator Casey Bradley has confirmed the resignation of the Director of Planning and Development, Diane McGinnis Casey. Word of McGinnis-Casey’s resignation began circulating overnight Thursday, and the City Administrator confirmed the act in a message sent to the Alders of the Common Council and forwarded to WHBL News on Friday morning, saying:
“Alders,
Last evening we received the resignation of the Director of Planning and Development Director Diane McGinnis Casey. We will work with Human Resources to update the job description and get the position posted soon. In the meantime, we will work with staff to ensure we mitigate issues and provide any support they may need as we work through this transition. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.”
Diane McGinnis-Casey took her position as Sheboygan’s Director of Planning and Development on August 28th of last year, replacing previous director Chad Pelishek who resigned his position in May of 2023 after filing a federal lawsuit against the City of Sheboygan and several officials amid claims of abusive and hostile conditions.
No context was given to whatever issues would be mitigated per Bradley’s announcement on Thursday, nor were any reasons given for McGinnis-Casey’s resignation.
