Leroy J. Rau, age 86, of the Town of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2023.
He was born in Plymouth on April 5, 1937, a son of the late Wallace and Ethel (Rausch) Rau. Leroy
attended Monroe Graded School in the Town of Sheboygan Falls and graduated from Plymouth High
School in 1955.
On May 9, 1970, he married Kathleen Murray at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Sheboygan.
Together they lived on the family farm where he was raised in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, where he
was also a volunteer with the Sheboygan Falls Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years.
In addition to farming, Leroy enjoyed roller-skating in his younger years, watching Western movies,
listening to Polka music, model trains, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by: His wife, Kathleen; Three sons: Randall (Rebecca), Richard (Billie), and Ryan (Jocelyn);
Ten grandchildren: Garret (fiancée, Emily), Gretchen (fiancé, Ashton), Gwen, Andrew, Ethan, Della, Lana,
Morrison, Avit, and Nat; His sister, Jeanette (John) Counsell; Two sisters-in-law: Barbara (Dave) Adams
and Linda (Al) Seinkbeil; As well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Leroy was preceded in death by: His parents; An infant brother; His sister, Delores (Ralph) Bennett; and
many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Following Leroy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and private services will be held. A celebration of
Leroy’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Leroy’s name to Sharon S. Richardson Community
Hospice.
The family would like to send special thanks to the staff at Sharon Richardson, as well as Melissa, Tina,
and Heidi, for the wonderful care and compassion given to Leroy.
