Marilyn J. Schwartz, age 89, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Rocky
Knoll Health Care Facility on November 30, 2023.
She was born in the Town of Lyndon on June 28, 1934, a daughter of the late Arno and Nellie (Brooke)
Steinke. Marilyn attended Payne Grade School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1952.
In 1954, she married James Schuette, with whom she had two children, Steve and Wendy. James
preceded her in death in 1955.
She was later married in 1959 to Frederick “Fritz” Schwartz, with whom she had two more children,
Laurie and Fred. Fritz preceded her in death in 2005.
Marilyn worked at A&P Cheese Company, which later became Great Lakes Cheese, for many years
retiring in 1996.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth, and was also a member of the VFW
Auxiliary.
Marilyn enjoyed playing dartball, doing puzzles, and watching and going to Brewer games. She was a
farm girl at heart and loved the anything outdoors, whether it was cutting the grass on her riding
mower, enjoying the flowers and the birds, feeding the chipmunks, or just sitting and enjoying the fresh
air. She also loved her dogs, but most of all loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by: Four children: Steve (Debbie) Schuette of Reedsville, Wendy (Larry) Steinhardt, Laurie
(Dan) Aderman, and Fred Schwartz, all of Plymouth; Grandchildren: Matt (Niki) Steinhardt, Josh (Jauda)
Steinhardt, Brooke (Ryan) Rozek, Trevor Schuette, Tyler (Nadine) Schuette, Jon (Kristi) Aderman, and
Shannon (Cory) Lund; Great-grandchildren: Savannah , Jordan, Oliver, and Skyler Schuette, Andrew,
Jake, Emma, Sutton, and Cooper Steinhardt, Melanie and Mollie Rozek, Aubrianna, Brennen, and Kyden
Aderman, and Peyton and Madsen Lund; Sisters-in-law: Rachel Steinke, Ellen Meyer, and Marilyn
McCabe; As well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers: Arno, Allen, and Barry Steinke, and
numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Following her wishes, cremation has taken place and private graveside services will be held at
Woodlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Marilyn’s name and can be directed to the family.
