The Wisconsin DNR is continuing warnings about a high fire danger that exists across Wisconsin. That’s the result of hot, dry and windy conditions that set the stage for rapid growth of any fires that are not confined or controlled.
10 wildfires were addressed within the past week according to the DNR, but they were kept small by cooler and wetter conditions. People are being advised to avoid outdoor burning until conditions improve, operate equipment like chainsaws, off-road vehicles and lawnmowers early in the morning or late in the day to avoid sparks at peak burn hours, secure dragging trailer chains, and to report fires early through the 911 system.
