Drought which has gripped Sheboygan County for much of 2023 is easing. All but a small section on the south border of the county are now listed by the National Weather Service as “abnormally dry”, with only 3.4% experiencing moderate drought conditions.
Over the past 30 days, most of the county has seen more than the normal rainfall – up to twice the usual in the northern parts, but for the year we still lag by about two-tenths of an inch.
Looking ahead, the next week may provide a quarter inch of rain, but the following week will likely be drier than normal, and it’s expected that drought conditions will either persist or show no change over the next 30 days.
