While Wednesday was oppressively, even dangerously hot in the Sheboygan Area, Lake Michigan will cut us a break today while the remainder of southern Wisconsin bakes once again.
The high temperature at the Sheboygan County Airport on Wednesday officially reached 96 degrees. What may be more remarkable, though, was the dew point temperature that hit a likely record of 79 degrees, resulting in a heat index of 114 under brisk southwest winds.
Today, though, a northeast wind off Lake Michigan will limit highs to the lower 80s, with the heat index only slightly higher.
