Lisbon, Wis –[July 31, 2023] Wisconsin Corn is partnering with the U.S. Grains Council and the National Corn Growers Association to bring Trade Policy School to Wisconsin.
Trade Policy School aims at educating and empowering grower leaders on trade topics. The wide range of information includes demonstrating the importance of trade to the agriculture industry and farmers’ profitability; details on hot topics on the trade agenda; and training on how participants can talk about trade issues in their communities.
Negotiations on the Mexico decree regarding biotech corn is dominating the news, spurring interest among those in the ag sector and creating demand for more and more detailed information on trade topics.
“With Mexico in the news and trade always one of our top priorities,” said Mark Hoffmann, president of WCGA, “bringing trade policy school to our state helps to keep our growers informed.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from U.S. Grains Council and the National Corn Growers Association experts as well as presentations from the Army Corps.
In addition to the Trade Policy School portion, a boat tour of the Lock and Dam in La Crosse is also part of the event.

Wisconsin Corn serves the state’s corn growers through the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board (WCPB) and Wisconsin Corn Growers Association (WCGA).
