Kenneth H.
Kracht, 82, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the
Waterford in Plymouth with his family by his side.
Ken was born
on April 27, 1935 in Sturgeon Bay to Louis and Edna (Esslinger) Kracht. Ken
attended Sevastapol High School in Door County.
He served his country in the United States Army from 1957-1959. On
February 22, 1958 he married Joyce Kalms in Bailey’s Harbor. Ken worked for the
Kohler Company as a laborer for 25 years, retiring in 1980.
Ken was a
member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. He was also a board
member for AAL and member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club. Ken enjoyed
traveling, woodworking, fishing and hunting.
Ken is
survived by his wife, Joyce; two children, Ronald Kracht of Sheboygan Falls and
Pam (Gordy) Egelseer of Elkhart Lake; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Matt) Balde
and Heather Halbach; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Ethan Balde; three
sisters-in-law, Margie Kracht, Susie Kracht and Diane Kalms; and one
brother-in-law, Jerry Kalms. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
Ken was
preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Earl, Clifford and Wally
Kracht; two sisters, Carol (Mark) Ciha and Bernice (Virgil) Mueller; parents
-in-law, Oswald and Gertrude Kalms, and one sister-in-law, Jan Kalms.
A service to
celebrate Ken’s life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2pm at St.
Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Tom Gudmundson officiating.
Committal prayers and Military Honors will take place at church immediately
following the service. Burial will be at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
Relatives
and friends may greet the family on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at St. Paul
Lutheran Church from 12:30pm until the time of service at 2pm.
In Lieu of
flowers a memorial fund is being established in his name for St. Paul Lutheran
Church.
