Warren W. Schmidt, age 87, of Plymouth, passed away late
Thursday evening (December 21, 2017) at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility in
Plymouth.
He was born in Plymouth on April 24, 1930, son of the late
Henry and Emma (Lueder) Schmidt.
Warren attended St. John Lutheran Grade School in Plymouth
and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1948. Following high school, he attended Lakeland
College for 2 years.
He served in the United States Navy from 1951-1953 during
the Korean War.
During his service, he married Nancy Meyer on March 28,
1953, at First Congregational U.C.C. in Plymouth.
Warren began working for his father-in-law as a mechanic at
Meyer Pontiac Sales & Service. He
later became owner/operator of Meyer Motors and retired in 1995.
He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in
Plymouth. He was also a member of the
Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post 243 of Plymouth.
Warren enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and going up
north to Echo Lake. He truly loved watching his grandkids enjoy Crystal Lake
where he resided.
Survivors include: His loving wife of 64 years: Nancy; Four
children: Kay Schmidt, Debbie (Tony) Lee, Gary (Amy) Schmidt, and Jean (Daniel)
Francis, all of Plymouth; 14 Grandchildren: Travis (Lori) Lee, Tye (Sam) Moe,
Eric (Krista) Lee, Dakota Moe, Brandon Lee (Special Friend: (Samantha) , Becca
(Peter) O’Reilly, Clare Schmidt, Luke Schmidt, Rachel Francis, Paul Francis,
Alex Schmidt, Elizabeth Francis, Connor Schmidt, Nathan Francis; 4
Great-grandchildren: Cora, Gabe, Sophia, and Isaak; and One sister-in-law:
Donna (Jerry) Flood of Plymouth. He is
also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Warren was preceded in death by: His parents; One sister:
Verona (Jerome) Wegner; Three brothers: Harold (Hilma) Schmidt, Earl (Celeste)
Schmidt, and Eugene (Marion) Schmidt; as well as one infant brother.
Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday
(December 26, 2017) at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Military Rites will be conducted by the
Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post 243 of Plymouth, following the services
at Church.
Visitation will take place at CHURCH on Tuesday (Dec. 26)
from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in
Warren’s name.
