Adeline Held, age 88, of Batavia, entered into eternal peace
on Tuesday (December 26, 2017) at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice
Center in Sheboygan Falls.
She was born on August 20, 1929 in the Town of Wayne,
Washington County, WI, daughter of the late Oscar and Amelia (Wiesner)
Jung. The family moved to the Town of
Farmington when Adeline was 14.
On May 20, 1950, she married Franklin A. Held at St. Martin
United Church of Christ in Fillmore, WI.
The couple farmed for 44 years together in Batavia. Franklin preceded her in death on November
17, 2016.
Adeline was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in
Batavia where she served with the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Batavia
Homemakers Club.
She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and search-a-word
books. Most of all, she loved spending
time with her loving children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Survivors include: Three children: Gary (Virginia) Held of
Batavia, Karen (Jerry) Rusch of Cedarburg, and JoAnn (Joe) Brunnbauer of Cedar
Grove; Six grandchildren: Ben (Tanya) Held, Brenda (Mike) O’Keefe, Bradley
Rusch (special friend: Allison), Kendra (Nick) Matter, Emily (Derek) Bartelt,
Christen (Jason) Weber; One step-granddaughter: Joy (Josh) Gulig; Seven great
grandchildren: Aaron and Parker Held, Colson Matter, Taylor Thomas, Zoey and
Nolan Gulig, and Dominic Weber.
She is further survived by: Seven sisters: Joyce Doll of
West Bend, Ruth Gollnick of Cedarburg, Betty (Eugene) Laatsch of Phoenix, AZ,
Judy (Jerry) Fahney of Baraboo, Sharon (Peter) Zirtzlaff of Plymouth, Pat
Jelinek of Milwaukee, Sandra Rosenthal of Hartford, and Carol (Russell) Fellenz
of West Bend; Two brothers: Ralph (Sandy) Jung of Silver Creek and Dale (Pam)
Jung of Jackson, WI; and One sister-in-law: Shirley Jung of Slinger. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews,
other relatives, and friends.
Adeline was preceded in death by: Her parents; Father and
mother-in-law: Frank and Emma Held; Great grandson: Braydon Matter; Two
brothers: Lloyd and Vernon Sr. Jung; One sister: Florence Doegnitz;
brothers-in-law: Everett, Claude, Norman, and Byron Held, Lyle Binder, Willard
Doegnitz, Ervin Saueressig, Arthur Vorpagel, Jim Gollnick, and Don Rosenthal;
and sisters-in-law: Frances Vorpagel, Mildred Saueressig, Irene, Helen, Ruth,
and Marie Held.
Funeral services to celebrate Adeline’s life will be held on
Saturday afternoon (December 30, 2017) at 2:00 P.M. at Zion United Methodist
Church in Batavia. Pastor Hap Itson and
Pastor Gail Mitchell will co-officiate.
Interment will be in the Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Batavia.
Visitation will take place at CHURCH on Saturday (Dec. 30)
from 12 Noon until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in
Adeline’s name.
