Myrtle M. Johnson, 94, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully
with her family by her side on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Azura Memory Care
in Sheboygan. Myrtle was born on May 29,
1923 in Newton to Oscar and Marie (Schnell) Rodewald. Myrtle graduated from Lincoln High School in
Manitowoc. She then moved to Michigan to
live with her sister. While in Michigan
she continued her education and received her teaching certificate. On April 17, 1948 she was united in marriage
to Oliver E. Johnson at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death in March of 2008.
Prior to marriage Myrtle worked for Security Bank in
Sheboygan and Burkhardt Heisdorf Insurance Company as an agent. Myrtle enjoyed being a part of her husband’s
business doing the books, Service Printing & Rubber Stamp Company. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church,
and the Beta Sigma Phi Service Sorority.
Family was most important to Myrtle.
She loved spending time and creating memories with her daughter,
grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. In 1968 Myrtle and Oliver built a
vacation home in Egg Harbor, where they spent their weekends entertaining
family and friends. Playing Bunko,
Bridge, traveling and cross stitching were also ways she enjoyed spending her
free time.
Myrtle is survived by her daughter Faith Ann McCoy of Egg
Harbor, grandsons, David L. Mills of Egg Harbor and Corey O. (Kyra) Mills of
Sheboygan, great-granddaughter Brynn C. Mills of Sheboygan, and sister-in-law
Caroline Rodewald of Sheboygan. She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law John J. McCoy Jr.,
brothers; Emmett (Bernice) Rodewald, Milton Rodewald, and Elroy (Florence) Rodewald,
sister Florence (Lincoln) Blacklock, and sisters-in-law Lorranine (Harry) Zable
and Beulah (Edwin) Kussart.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018
at 12:30 PM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8

St. Sheboygan, with Pastor Brett Matz officiating. Entombment will follow at Lutheran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the
family on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at
the FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Mark
Lutheran Church or Azura Memory Care in Myrtle’s name.
