The Green Bay Packers made some post-rookie mini camp roster moves on Tuesday. They signed another draft choice and three players who attended the camp as tryout players.
The most notable signee was Broughton Hatcher, a long snapper who played collegiately at Old Dominion. The 6-4, 242 pounder impressed Special Teams Coordinator Rich Bisaccia enough to release his long snapper from a year ago. Jack Coco was cut by the team after he handled the long snapping in all 17 games last season. Also brought aboard were defensive back William Hooper (5-10, 180) who played at Northwestern State and defensive lineman Antonio Moultrie (6-4, 275). Moultrie played four years at Alabama-Birmingham before finishing his career last season at Miami.
Green Bay also got another draft pick in the fold. 7th round wide receiver Grant Dubose agreed to contract terms leaving the Packers without deals on their top four picks, Lukas Van Ness, Luke Musgrave, Jayden Reed and Tucker Kraft.
Bill Huber of SI.com reported the Packers won’t be re-signing tight end Marcedes Lewis. The 17 year veteran played his last five seasons with the Packers, catching 57 passes for 582 yards and six touchdowns. More importantly, he was a blocking anchor on the line and an invaluable locker room leader. With Lewis’ departure, Green Bay has now lost 51 years of NFL experience from last year’s roster in the “Big Dog’s” 17 years, Aaron Rodgers with 18 and Mason Crosby with 16.
