Dr. Galen Royer Frysinger age 91 passed away on November 27, 2022. He was born in Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania to Rev. Hiram Frysinger and Irene Royer Frysinger.
He attended Juniata College in PA (undergraduate), Yale M.S. in 1955 and Yale PH.D in 1956. Studied in
Gottingen, Germany at the Max Planck Institute on a Fulbright Scholarship and National Science
Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Galen was a physical chemist and worked in the university, industry and government. He retired from
Kohler Company in 1990, after working in the Research and Development Lab in the Plumbing Division.
He developed a love for travel as a young child when is father took the family on trips around the USA.
He combined his interest in travel with his love of computers to produce the webpages he was so proud
of.
He married Elma Breidenstine on December 24, 1953. They had four children.
On May 25, 1985 Galen married Marlene Roeseler of Sheboygan. They enjoyed traveling and collecting
quilts. Galen wanted to have a good feel for how everyone around the world lives and visited almost
every country in the world.
Galen is survived by his wife Marlene, children: Tom Frysinger of Norwick, CT; Susan (David) Blasch of
Catskill, NY; Jane (Jim) Pilliod of Hollywood, FL; and Glenn (Karen) Frysinger of Old Saybrook, CT.
Grandchildren Joseph and James Pilliod; Dominic and Marisa Del Corso; Jack, Erik and Matthew
Frysinger. He also has five great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by brothers Carl Frysinger (Cindi) of Palmyra, PA; Roy Frysinger of Harrisburg PA;
sister Anne (Ken)Shifflet of Harrisonburg, PA; and brother-in-law Frederick (Judy) Roeseler of Kiel, WI.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, sister; Faye; sister-in-law Doris Frysinger and brother-in-law
Allan Roeseler.
Per the family’s request, a private burial will take place at a later date and time.
