Republican candidate for Wisconsin Governor Tim Michels made his case to supporters at Ranieri’s Four-of-a-Kind in Sheboygan on Wednesday afternoon, following closely on the heels of current Governor Tony Evers’ visit earlier in the day.
The enthusiasm among the crowd packed to capacity in the bar was no less enthusiastic than their counterparts, and if intensity counts, then the support was almost palpable. And the candidates on the Republican ticket only helped amplify the mood, beginning with Secretary of State Candidate Amy Loudenbeck, U.S. Representative Glenn Grothman, Attorney General Candidate Eric Toney, and finally to Tim Michels who asked the crowd: “What the heck are you all doing in a bar at this time of day?”
Michels, with all the energy of a major league coach, said that 3 things will happen if he’s elected Governor: “Number one – I’m gonna put more money in people’s pockets…I’ll talk about that in a second…number two – we are gonna reduce crime in Wisconsin, and number three – are gonna get better educational opportunities for our sons and daughters.”
And when asked what’s the first thing he’d do if elected, Michels told WHBL “There’s so much to do. The first thing we have to do is get crime down in Wisconsin. I’m gonna talk to to the “bad guys”, if you will, on election night, and on my inaugural speech. And I’m gonna tell ‘em ‘there’s a new sheriff in town; what you’re doing is not going to be tolerated anymore. What do I mean by that? The bad guys are emboldened. They feel like ‘I can get away with this and nothings gonna happen to me.’ We’re gonna make that change right away, we’re gonna flip the switch immediately, followed immediately by working with the legislature, having better schools and better educational opportunities for our sons and daughters. We’re gonna have election integrity again in Wisconsin, and we are gonna lead this state to new heights.”
The election to decide all those races is now just five days away.
