A Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development grant will help a Sheboygan County job counseling organization satisfy the demand for clinicians in the local health care community.
A total of $900,000 Fast Forward Training Grants intended to train over 340 workers in healthcare, customer service, technology and manufacturing was announced by Governor Evers on Tuesday.
Among the recipients is Life Point Counseling LLC, of Sheboygan County, which will use its $193,635 award to train 12 unemployed or underemployed trainees and 20 incumbent workers through four pipelines: pre-graduate interns, pre-licensure clinicians, licensed clinicians seeking advanced certifications, and clinical supervisors. The training will support job placement and increased wages, and expand services while reducing wait times and increasing local care.
