MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) – A new set of videos from the Wisconsin Elections Commission seeks to walk people through the process of how the election system works.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission wants to educate students on how the elections process works in Wisconsin. Spokesperson Riley Vetterkind says a series of videos on how the system works is now available to the public.
“A lot of the conversations that we see surrounding elections are just based on misunderstandings of how of how elections work in our state. And so we wanted to take a step back and really focus on the fundamentals of voting in Wisconsin.”
Vetterkind says that while the videos are being sent out to teachers to use in civics classes, they really are meant for everyone.
“We just want to provide them the tools to be informed about how elections work, so that they can, you know, have more engaged conversations so that they can have accurate conversations about what’s going on, so that we can all work to make elections administration better in this state.”
Vetterkind says they’re hoping to correct misinformation about the process and ensure people can be confident in their elections.
