SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – While 5 persons recovered from COVID-19 in Sheboygan County, 4 new cases were added, and 59 more persons tested negative for the coronavirus. That’s a positive rate of 7-1/2% of all tests. 3 persons are hospitalized in Sheboygan County, the second consecutive day with an increase in that number. 42 cases in all are active, while 137 total have recovered from COVID-19.
Active cases have been on the decline in Sheboygan County since last Sunday, June 14th when there were 54 cases. Since then, total cases have increased by 14, while recoveries have increased by 26. Deaths for Sheboygan County remain at 4.
Within Wisconsin, the 9,812 persons receiving negative test results were countered with an increase of 385 positive returns. That’s 3.8% of all test results, failing to establish a downward 14-day trend. Among the 6 gating metrics used to trigger further steps in recommendations from the State Department of Health Services towards reopening the state, only 2 are now “green”. Those two verify that 95% of hospitals can treat all patients without crisis standards of care, and that 95% of all hospitals have arranged for testing for all symptomatic clinical staff treating patients at the hospital per CDC guidelines. Currently, the trend of healthcare workers contracting COVID-19 is not coming down, flu-like illnesses are increasing over the past 14-days, and neither the trajectories of the number of reports related to COVID-19-like symptoms nor of positive tests as a percentage of all returns are headed in the right direction.
Deaths in Wisconsin now number 744, an increase of 14 compared with Friday.
