Graduation just won’t be the same at Lakeshore Technical College on Saturday, but that’s by design.
Like most colleges, LTC moved away from traditional graduation celebrations during the COVID pandemic, and after hearing from recent graduates, administrators found it clear that students and families prefer the form forced by the pandemic – a more family-friendly, in-person event with time allotted for separate degree fields – and with a virtual option for those who prefer it. And those who graduated virtually-only in May of 2020 are being invited to attend for the in-person celebration.
LTC President Dr. Paul Carlsen said that “Students deserve to be honored for their success in a manner they will always remember fondly.”
