The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health upped the COVID-19 death toll to 179 with the addition of three victims, all 80 years or older. These are the first deaths added since November 16th. Of the 179 casualties, a total of one was between 10 and 19 years old, three were in their 30s, seven in their 40s, eight in their 50s, twenty-seven in their 60s, forty-three in their 70s, and ninety were at least 80 years old.
The regular reporting of data Mondays through Fridays on the Sheboygan County Coronavirus Case Dashboard has resumed following a backlog in the statewide reporting system. When last reporting a week ago there had been 19,431 total cases recorded during the pandemic. The last seven days have seen that number increase by 573 cases to top the 20,000 mark, and as of Monday, December 13, 20,004 cases have been recorded. Of those, 1,088 are active. That’s up 88 from last Monday. Meanwhile 482 persons recovered, resulting in the net rise of actives.
995 persons have needed hospitalizations during the pandemic in Sheboygan County, and 31 patients are currently being treated. That is two more than a week ago.
The level of community transmission is “high”, with a case rate of 495.93 per 100,000 persons, down 100 points from a week ago. The percent of tests returning positive over the last 7 days was 12.36%, a decline from 14.63% last Monday.
67,109 persons in Sheboygan County have received at least one dose of vaccine, accounting for 58.2% of the population. 64,190, or 55.7%, are fully vaccinateds. 629 persons were vaccinated in all last week.
There were no changes in the numbers concerning facility-wide investigations currently underway in Sheboygan County.
