MaryAnn Grois, 78, of Sheboygan, WI, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Aurora Medical
Center in Grafton, with her loved ones by her side.
MaryAnn was born on August 4, 1943, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Everett and Anna (Schmitz)
Schmidt. She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School on June 4, 1962. MaryAnn was united in
marriage to Gilbert J. Grois on February 9, 1963, at St. Mary’s Church in Sheboygan Falls.
MaryAnn was employed at Sears, in Customer Service, where she earned the title of “Ticketron Lady” by
concert go-ers. Following her retirement from Sears, MaryAnn went back to work at Yonkers, in
Customer Service, and Santa Land. It was her personal friendship with Santa that impressed her
grandchildren the most. MaryAnn also enjoyed volunteering her time at the St. Nicholas Hospital gift
shop, the Stephanie Weill Center, and took great pride in volunteering as an election poll worker for
many years.
MaryAnn was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. She was a member of WELCA
(Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church) and assisted in counting Church offerings every week. She
enjoyed helping her daughter, Tammy, prepare baby layettes to be given to mothers in need. She was
always willing to help where needed and cherished the relationships she developed at St. Peter.
MaryAnn was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. We will cherish the memories made
baking Christmas cookies and candy, annual Easter egg hunts, going out for breakfast, and impromptu
family gatherings at grandma's house. MaryAnn was also known for her short stature, earning her the
nickname "Munch" amongst her friends. She made the best German Potato Salad, a recipe passed
down from her mother. Gilbert and MaryAnn’s love for Elvis brought her comfort after Gilbert’s passing
on July 9, 2006. She enjoyed traveling with friends, girls weekends, card club, spending time with the
Red Hat ladies, and was a frequent guest at the Fireside Theatre.
MaryAnn is survived by her daughters, Debra Livermore and Kathleen Babak both of Sheboygan;
grandchildren Andrew (Amanda) Rosten, Nathan Rosten, Randy (Cady Bogart) Livermore, Amber
(Spencer) Lorier and Aaron Livermore, Makell and Mara Babak; great-grandchildren, Logan, Wyatt and
Emely Jo Livermore, Aubrey and Ashton Lorier; Allison and Anna Rosten, and baby Ace Rosten due to
arrive in November; sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Roger Dulmes; nieces, Tracy (Bret) Tegeler,
Judy (Phil) Newberry, Cindy Boeldt, Sharon (Scott Brooks) Payne and Julianne (Al) Anderson; and
nephews Brian (Debby) Hansen, Todd (Amee) Dulmes, and Michael Schmidt.
MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Gilbert; daughter Tammy Rosten;
sister Jean Boeldt; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Diane Payne; brother Kenneth Schmidt; and
nephew Steven Boeldt.
