The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is out with an advisory for Wisconsinites celebrating this Labor Day Weekend. They want you to mask up and follow those now-familiar practices of social distancing and washing up in order to control the spread of the coronavirus.
Wisconsin’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ryan Westergaard said that “It is critical that we take action now to prevent further spread of the virus.” That action includes masking up indoors, and staying away from gatherings if you feel sick.
Vaccinations are now part of our arsenal against the pandemic, unlike last year when most events like the County Fair had to be cancelled. In fact, this year you can get a vaccination at the Fair from the County Division of Public Health.
The pandemic is actually stronger now than at this time last year, when on this date Sheboygan County had 100 active cases and 7 persons hospitalized. There are currently 419 active cases and 15 hospitalized as of Wednesday.
