MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Cincinnati Reds picked up their fifth win in a row by defeating the Brewers, 2-1, in extra innings of a pitchers’ duel in Milwaukee on Tuesday night.
Brewers starter Brett Anderson battled with the Reds’ Luis Castillo for seven innings before the bullpens kept a 0-0 game into the tenth, when the Reds got two runs in the top half of the frame and limited the damage for the win.
Daniel Robertson plated the Crew’s only run with a two-out RBI. Brad Boxberger suffered the loss.
Jesse Winker and Kyle Farmer recorded the Reds’ only two hits of the night.
The Brewers will try to avoid getting swept at home Wednesday afternoon as the two teams wrap up their three-game series. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 12:35.
