WEST BEND, WI (WHBL) – An eight-year-old Milwaukee boy is the first drowning victim of the summer.
The little boy’s family says he went missing Saturday evening at the Regner Park pond in West Bend. Lifeguards and searchers found the boy unresponsive in the water. He was pronounced dead at Froedtert Hospital.
Regner Park managers closed the pond Sunday.
This is the first drowning at the park since 2016, when a six year-old girl drowned in deeper water at the man-made pond.
