(WHBL) – If you thought that traffic on I-43 has been, shall we say “brisk” lately, you’re not the only one to notice, and today the Wisconsin State Patrol will be using a computerized airborne observation system called VASCAR to spot speeders along with aggressive and reckless drivers.
The federally-funded program is used to improve safety and remind drivers of the need to observe speed limits through voluntary compliance and not to stop or cite motorists. However those in clear violation of the law will be reported by the pilot to ground-based troopers who will stop and ticket the offenders.
Today’s is a one-day operation.
