After last year’s classes of 2020 experienced their high school graduations in ways no one could have imagined because of the pandemic, public school districts in Sheboygan County have much more conventional ideas in mind this time around.
Last week, the Sheboygan Area School District announced a return to the traditional in-person ceremony on Saturday, June 5th at Vollrath Park, with a rain date of Sunday the 6th. Due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19, two ceremonies will be held; South High at 11 AM and North High at 2 PM. An indoor option was not considered for safety reasons, and attendees are being asked to mask up, use social distancing, and show up no more than an hour ahead of time.
While all other county public school districts have announced their dates, not all have announced locations. Sheboygan Falls is planning an indoor ceremony in the High School Auditorium on Sunday the 6th, Oostburg will hold its commencement in the High School Gym on June 4th, and Kohler will hold their graduation in the Kohler Memorial Theater on Sunday the 6th. The Plymouth, Random Lake, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, Howards Grove , and Cedar Grove-Belgium districts either haven’t yet decided, or else have not published their locations as of this time.
Here’s a list of those details that were made available so far:
