Little variation in the number of active COVID-19 cases have been noted in Sheboygan County in the last few months. That number dropped below 200 when 177 were reported on February 15; as April ended the number of active cases in Sheboygan County was 126, two fewer than on Thursday. On Friday, 8 more positive cases were recorded, while 10 more recovered, and one more person was hospitalized, putting the county’s patient population at 6.
Normally posted each Thursday, the “Facility-Wide Investigations” report from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health has not been updated since April 15th when 15 investigations were underway.
Wisconsin recorded 789 more cases of COVID-19 since Thursday, and 8 more deaths pushed that toll to 6,823. 52 more persons were hospitalized, and after deaths and discharges were taken into account, Wisconsin’s COVID-19 patient population rose by nine to 338, 95 of those in ICU beds. 388 patients are ventilated for any reason in Wisconsin. There is a gentle overall downward trend in COVID patient numbers with a few exceptions; 370 were recorded on February 19th, but that had fallen to 193 on March 21st, with a recent peak of 364 patients reached on April 21st.
Vaccinations have also been on a decline in Sheboygan County. 9,186 doses were administered the week of April 4th at the peak of the effort; so far this week 3,279 doses have been recorded, however the data is incomplete at this time.
