An area businessman is in deep trouble after investigators uncovered evidence of grooming a child for sexual activity while in a position of trust.
Ozaukee County Circuit Court records show that three felony charges were filed against 56-year-old David Morales of Cedar Grove who made his initial appearance for a bail/bond hearing on Tuesday. Morales was charged with one count of Grooming of a Child for Sexual Activity by a Person in a Position of Trust, and two counts of Possession of Child Pornography. All three are felonies. The first charge comes with a potential 12-1/2 years in prison and a $25,000 fine, while the two charges related to child pornography each come with prison terms of 25 years and a $100,000 fine. WHBL requested a copy of the criminal complaint from the Ozaukee County District Attorneys office, but we’re still awaiting a response.
Morales is the owner and operator of two Bada Bing Pizza locations, one in Cedar Grove and the other in Fredonia. According to a 2020 newspaper article in the Ozaukee Press, Morales said he mostly employs Cedar Grove-Belgium High School Students at Bada Bing, and was also an assistant Boy Scout leader.
Bond for Morales was set at $50,000 cash. He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Monday.
