(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 25, 2026 – Following a one-month break from competition, Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team put their mettle to the test in a pair of NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series events in the state of Minnesota on Friday, Aug. 21 and Saturday, Aug. 22.
The doubleheader weekend fired up at Oglivie Speedway where the Plymouth, Wis. driver timed in 21st in the 29-car field with a lap of 12.756 seconds around the three-eighths-mile high-banked clay oval.
After placing eighth in the first heat race, Hartmann lined up sixth in the 12-lap Last Chance Showdown, needing a top six finish to earn an A-main berth.
He fell back to ninth in the early going before battling back to seventh on lap 9. Hartmann then used a big run on the final lap to nip Brooke Tatnell at the line and secure the 24th starting spot in the A-main lineup.
On lap 3 of the scheduled 30-lap main event, rain hit the speedway to force a lengthy delay. The team decided to call it a night at that point, ending up with a 24th-place showing.
After towing to Jackson Speedway in southern Minnesota for Saturday night’s World of Outlaws event, Hartmann qualified 25th in the 37-car field with a time of 13.744 seconds on the four-tenths-mile semi-banked clay racing surface.
Hartmann then closed out the weekend with an eighth-place run in his heat race, and a 13th-place showing in the Last Chance Showdown.
“It was a good weekend at two new tracks for this team,” Hartmann said. “We definitely have some work to do at Jackson, but I felt good at Ogilvie. We just have a couple of things to change before going back for the IRA [Interstate Racing Association] show at Jackson in a couple of weeks.”
Next up, the team will head into the final month of the season with two IRA events over the Labor Day weekend starting at Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway in Beaver Dam, Wis. for the ninth annual Harry Neitzel Tribute on Friday, Sept. 4, before visiting 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis. on Saturday, Sept. 5.
Both events will be broadcast live on FloRacing.com.
