Jacquelyn K. Grunewald, 79, of Howards Grove, Wisconsin, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 1, 2026 after a courageous and inspirational battle with cancer. Her final days were spent at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice.
Jacquelyn was born on September 29, 1947, to the late Orval and Cleora “Cle” (Poth) Marx.
She attended Howards Grove High School, graduating in 1965, and went on to graduate magna cum laude from Lakeland College in 1969.
On August 9, 1969, Jacquelyn was united in marriage to Fritz Grunewald.
For three years, from 1969 to 1972, she taught at Belmont Elementary School. She later worked at Bemis for 33 years and was honored to be a member of the company’s 25-Year Club.
One-day trips with her daughter, Angie, to see theatrical performances, and following her grandsons, Brody and Trent, through their basketball and football games were among her greatest joys. She loved cheering for their teams and was especially proud watching her son, Bryan, coach them.
Jacquelyn is survived by her husband, Fritz Grunewald; daughter, Angela Grunewald; son, Bryan (Dana) Grunewald; grandchildren, Brody and Trent Grunewald; brothers, Bob Marx and Randy (Ann) Marx; sister, Joanne Wesener; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gretchen (William) Crowley, Patricia (David) Wehrmann, and Cynthia (Jeffrey) Glomstead.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Cleora Marx; her parents-in-law, Nelson and Doris (Strassburger) Grunewald; brother-in-law, Randy Grunewald; sister-in-law, Linda Marx; and brother-in-law, Art Wesener.
Special thanks to the staff at St. Nicholas Hospital and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for their compassionate care. Dr. Abdelouahid Wahid Souala, Dr. Steven Bettag, and his staff provided exceptional, kind, compassionate, and expert care during Jacquelyn’s illness.
