Sheboygan’s Department of Public works has announced that seasonal closures and winterization procedures will begin Thursday, October 1st. The scheduled closures ensure that park amenities are properly maintained, protected from winter conditions, and prepared for spring opening.
Tomorrow the splash pads at Cleveland, End, Workers and Optimist Parks will be turned off for the season.
On October 15th all open-air shelters, fish cleaning stations, and public restrooms except at Shaw Park will be closed for the season. Removal of park amenities such as picnic tables, benches and garbage cans will begin. The City did add that when deemed necessary, portable restrooms will be placed at high-demand locations to support continued public use throughout the fall and winter.
On November 1st, seasonal recreation features including pickleball nets, tennis nets and soccer nets will be taken down. Kayak launches will also be removed and stored for the winter months.
