A batch of federal funding intended for infrastructure projects was announced by Governor Tony Evers on Wednesday, and some of that funding will come to Sheboygan County. A total of $370 million will go towards road and bridge projects in Wisconsin. Evers says the money will help improve transportation infrastructure in both rural and urban communities.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, more than 9,600 miles of roads and 2,400 bridges have already been improved since 2019. This latest funding round will support 195 approved projects, selected from 330 applications submitted by local governments and agencies statewide.
Sheboygan County’s award will go towards the design and construction of the Mullet River bridge on Center Street in the Village of Greenbush.
