The National Weather Service is sending advance notice to those in southern Wisconsin, including Sheboygan County, of substantial rain developing Friday evening and lasting through Saturday night or Sunday morning. Amounts forecast for Sheboygan County are in the neighborhood of 2-1/2 inches in steady rain over the course of the event, but some areas could also experience repeating thunderstorms. Should those occur the areas beneath them could get totals between 4 and 6 inches, causing urban and small stream flooding, rises on area rivers, and isolated flash flooding.
Confidence in the overall rain forecast is high, but the National Weather Service is still trying to nail down the exact areas at greatest risk, and so future forecasts should be monitored.
