Sheboygan’s City Plan Commission is taking up the need to control pedestrian traffic around the Farnsworth Middle School reconstruction project that began this past June. An ordinance is being crafted that will basically vacate the sidewalks adjacent to the school on South 10th and 11th Streets from Union to Ashland Avenues, including Ashland. That’s required for the safe operation of the contractors rebuilding the school.
Assembly of the steel components of the three-story structure is now underway. The project should be completed in about a year, and the ordinance vacating those sidewalks would expire in 2028.
The Plan Commission meets in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 4 this afternoon.
