Elizabeth (Betts) Diamond passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at the age of 94, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 14, 1932, in Waldo, to Dala and Chester Harrison. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, of 55 years; her sister Shirl Laske, and brothers William Harrison and Chester Harrison.
She is survived by her loving children: Deborah Diamond (Mark Kupsch) of Madison, Wisconsin; Dawn Valencia (Ricardo) of Palatine, Illinois; Kevin Diamond (Sarah) of Elmhurst, Illinois; Mary Diamond of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and Tim Diamond (Sue) of Griffith, Indiana. Her 12 grandchildren, Courtney, Charles, Chelsea, Ricky, Kristina, Melissa, Elizabeth, Katie, Jenny, Zach, Jake, and Sarah Grace; and her 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her best friend, Marilyn Daane, and caring goddaughter/niece Roxanne Pauls; her many nieces and nephews from the Harrison and Diamond sides of her family, her many friends and neighbors.
Betts graduated from Waldo High School and worked as a Navy stenographer in Milwaukee, before marrying her husband, James, in 1954. They lived in Winneconne prior to moving to Sheboygan in 1957. She was a stay-at-home Mom until her children were in school, when she began working at Maurices for 17 years.
She was a devoted lifetime parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church; member of Sheboygan Elks Club Lodge 299; played in the Riverdale Golf Course Women’s League ; the Red Hats Women’s group, Christian Women’s Club, and swam at the Senior Center for over 35 years.
Betts’ family was everything to her. She loved being together with her entire family for the special holidays of Christmas, Easter and especially Thanksgiving where there was much laughter, storytelling, games and shenanigans. She is famous for baking her Betts’ Banana (Grandma) Bread enjoyed by all who love her.
She also enjoyed sitting outside on her patio, times with her many friends at the Elks, playing Bridge, card and board games, parades, the beach, and church picnics. She was an enthusiastic fan of the Green Bay Packers, Bucks, Brewers, Wisconsin Badger football, basketball, and volleyball, as well as golf.
Betts will be remembered by her warm heart, radiant smile, her kindness and forgiveness to all, and her welcoming hospitality to her always “open door” to all who liked to visit.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1305 Humboldt Ave., Sheboygan with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6706 Superior Ave. Town of Sheboygan.
