Mark S. “Marco” Schmalfeldt, 70, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026 at North Ridge Health and Rehab in Manitowoc.
Marco was born April 16, 1956 in Manitowoc, son of William and Jeanette (Dehne) Schmalfeldt. He graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1974. He was a longtime employee of Tecumseh in Sheboygan Falls where he worked in diecast repair.
On August 22, 1981, he was united in marriage with Mary Jo “Funky” Ellmore. The couple shared 26 years together before her passing in 2007.
An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Marco loved riding and traveling, especially with his wife.
Marco is survived by his son Travis Schmalfeldt (Kayla Gleisner), sisters Darlene (Tom) Bigler and Barbara Buchner; sister-in-law Debbie Schmalfeldt; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Jo, his parents William and Jeanette Schmalfeldt, parents-in-law Duane and Jean (Gander) Ellmore, brother William T. “Bill” Schmalfeldt and nephew Mark (Chef) Hendricks.
Marco will be laid to rest at Wildwood Cemetery on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 2PM. A procession will leave from Wenig Funeral Home, 711 Broadway in Sheboygan Falls at 1:30PM.
