A word of advice is coming from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office – don’t drive around road construction barriers. It sounds obvious, but the Sheriff took to social media after drivers were apparently ignoring them at the intersection County Highway XX and Louis Corners Road which is being reconstructed with new asphalt, curbs, gutters and storm sewer improvements.
It’s all a matter of safety as Wisconsin State Law said that failure to obey a Road Closed sign comes with a fine over $200 ($213.10) and striking a construction worker can come with fines up to $10,000 and up to 9 months imprisonment.
Detours are in place as follows:
From the west: Proceed north on STH 67, then turn east onto CTH X. Continue to CTH M, and then travel south on CTH M until reaching CTH XX.
From the east: Proceed north on CTH M to CTH X, then travel west on CTH X to STH 67. Continue south on STH 67 until reaching CTH XX.
