Sheboygan Firefighters made quick work of a house fire that struck shortly before midnight last night. SFD crews were called out at 11:30 to a home on South 22nd Street and a full department response was on the scene within three minutes to find moderate smoke coming from the house. They confirmed that everyone had escaped safely and quickly attacked the fire from the inside, taking only about 10 minutes to bring it fully under control, and were able to leave by 1 AM.
Two persons were displaced and damage was estimated at $20,000. Nobody was injured, and the SFD reminds residents to ensure all levels of a home have smoke detectors with one in each sleeping area, regularly tested and maintained.
