Southside Sheboygan motorists will soon have another road project to deal with. Clara Avenue between the Malibu Apartments and South 14th Street will receive storm sewer improvements, some new crosswalks, curb and gutter repairs and a new asphalt surface.
Beginning Monday, Clara will be closed to through traffic between South 7th and 14th Streets in a project expected to take until the end of August.
Residential access will be maintained, but trucks will have to detour the block between 7th and 8th Streets using South 8th, Broadway, and South 7th. There will also be times where driveways will be unavailable due to concrete replacement. As usual, patience is appreciated, especially as weather can impact schedules.
More road closures are also scheduled to begin on Monday in Sheboygan’s north side when Ontario Avenue from North 11th to North 12th Street, and both North 11th and 12th between Ontario and Erie Avenues undergo road work and storm sewer improvements. That work is also tentatively scheduled to continue through the end of August.
