It appears that Sheboygan County won’t be baked in heat today as originally expected, but we’ll still need to be aware for possible sever thunderstorms this afternoon through Thursday evening, with the highest risk during each day’s afternoon hours.

NWS Graphic
The initial line of potentially severe storms is expected midday through late this afternoon with damaging winds up to 80 mph the greatest risk, but quarter to golf-ball size hail and tornadoes could also develop.

NWS Graphic
A second round of storms expected between about 10 PM and 1 AM overnight will pose a medium risk of all hazards including possible flooding rain. The overall risk today is 3 out of 5, a significant threat that deserves attention.

NWS Graphic
A repeat of those same threats is present with storms on Thursday with most severe activity focused between 6 and 9 PM, but weaker storms may still happen in the morning.
One better bit of news comes with a forecast of lower temperatures than originally expected, and with help from Lake Michigan heat indices here could remain in the 70s and 80s today.
