Recent rain events have lessened the strain on lawns and crops amid abnormally dry conditions in Sheboygan County – and more rain could help avoid the onset of a drought. The National Weather Service is indicating that may be the case and, to our west, that could amount to excess moisture. The Sheboygan County Airport measured around two-tenths of an inch of rain since Friday, and another one-half to three-quarters of an inch could fall today and tonight in Sheboygan County.

One positive result is a low fire danger. Many areas in southwest and south-central Wisconsin are expecting a general half, to 1-1/2 inches today with pockets of 2-4 inches possible. Shifts in the pattern could steer some of that our way but at this time that’s not expected…good news in that such rainfall could result in flash flooding.
Any rain that does fall will contribute humidity to uncomfortable weather expected later this week as highs in the 80s are forecast for Wednesday with heat indices reaching into the 90s.
