Recent rain events have lessened the strain on lawns and crops amid abnormally dry conditions in Sheboygan County – but more rain could help avoid the onset of a drought. The National Weather Service is indicating that may be the case and to our west, it could amount to excess moisture.
The Sheboygan County Airport measured around two-tenths of an inch of rain since Friday. One positive result is a low fire danger. Another 4-5 tenths of an inch potential exists Monday and Tuesday in Sheboygan County, while areas in southwest and south-central Wisconsin are expecting a general half, to 1-1/2 inches on Monday with pockets of 2-4 inches possible. Shifts in the pattern could steer some of that our way but at this time that’s not expected…good news in that such rainfall could result in flash flooding.

Any rain that does fall will contribute to uncomfortable weather expected later this week as highs in the 90s are forecast for Wednesday with heat indices inching toward the century mark.
