Cathy L. Boerner, 72, of Sheboygan, met her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice center surrounded by love & family.
Born October 28, 1953, in Sheboygan, Cathy was a daughter of the late Roy and Alice Fischer Herzog. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School. On December 9, 1984, she was united in marriage to the love of her life & best friend, John M. Boerner in Sheboygan. They were married for 33 years before John preceded her in death on April 6, 2018.
Cathy worked as a team leader at Rockline Industries for many years before her retirement. She previously worked as the director for Head Start of Sheboygan County. She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and tending to her flowers, and taking long walks and enjoying nature with her dogs through the years. She loved all animals, frequently taking time to admire the squirrels, deer, and other wildlife on her walks with her Yorkshire terrier, Sophie, who was her treasured companion.
Cathy was kind, resilient & from a young age was described as an old soul. Always willing to help others, often times before herself and never afraid to stand up for what was right. She was small but mighty and had a spunk to her that always kept people in great spirits.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by her surviving family: Daughter, Jennifer (Scott Pieper) Charles, Waldo; her grandchildren, Amanda (Justin) Roerdink, Oostburg, Jonathan Hanson, Green Bay, and Brody Charles, Waldo; her great grandson who brought her much joy, Colson Roerdink; her brothers, John Herzog and Jim (Barb) Herzog; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Cathy is reunited in heaven with her beloved Husband, John; her son Douglas Charles; Parents Roy and Alice; Grandson Alexander Hanson; Brother Michael Herzog; Sister Alice Dhein; and her beloved dogs Sophie and Gilbert.
According to her wishes, there will be no services or visitation at this time.
The family would like to thank her care team of doctors, nurses and staff and the staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Cathy’s arrangements.
