Dennis L. Guetschow, 83, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully Friday evening, May 29, 2026 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Born May 23, 1943 in Sheboygan, Dennis was a son of the late Herbert and Lucile Hoeft Guetschow. He attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1961. On November 30, 1963, he was united in marriage to Sharon Schwaller in Waukegan, IL.
Dennis was a salesman for Weaver’s Office Supply in Sheboygan for many years before his retirement. He then worked part time for Brantmeier Ford in Sheboygan. He was a member of First United Lutheran Church . As a young man, he sand in the band, The Renagades and later taught himself to play the guitar. He was also an avid pool player on many leagues. Family was most important to Dennis and he and Sharon enjoyed their time with family and friends at the cottage on Kelly Lake and vacationing in Aruba. He enjoyed teaching his children hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors. He loved spending time in his woodworking shop and being the neighborhood handyman. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and for the love for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sharon; his children, Rick (Lori) Guetschow, Newton, Steve (Susan) Guetschow, Cambridge, WI, and Dawn (Pat) Guetschow, Sheboygan; his grandchildren, Tyler (Jenn) Guetschow, Teal Guetschow, and Mike Guetschow; two great grandchildren, Chloe and Owen Guetschow; his sisters, Shirley Seefeldt, Sheboygan, Judith (Donald) Piontkowski, AZ, and Mary Townsend, TX; his sisters-in-law, Gloria Guetschow, FL, and Gail Schwaller, Sheboygan; brother-in-law, Rodney (Cindy) Schwaller, Plymouth; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Steven Guetschow; his brothers-in-law, Donald Seefeldt, Donald Townsend, and Terry Schwaller.
Funeral services for Dennis will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum of Greenlawn Memorial Park.
A memorial fund has been established in his name for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
