After the wettest April on record in Sheboygan County, a lack of moisture during May has returned abnormally dry conditions to Sheboygan County.
The US Drought Monitor said on Thursday that roughly the southern three-quarters of the county, judged by the graphics, was experiencing the notably dry soil conditions. With few days remaining, May rainfall of 1.06 inches to date is far below the normal of 2.89 inches for the month.
That being said, drought conditions aren’t expected to develop in the short term, as the National Weather Service expects June to offer near-normal precipitation…and temperatures in Sheboygan County.
