As the project to resurface I-43 in Sheboygan County resumes following the shutdown of work over the long holiday weekend, motorists are being advised that they may encounter slow-downs, and even a few short-term closures within the work zone this week.
Crews will continue rehabilitation of various structures between County Road “V” and Highway 42, and the replacement of right-of-way fence will be underway on northbound lanes from Cedar Grove to Highway 23. Milling and paving operations will also resume along the length of the project, and median grading operations for guardrail installation will be done on the stretch between Highways 28 and 42 this week.
Besides the long-term lane closures already in place, short-term closures can be expected without prior notice, and drivers are urged to remain alert to the possibility of unplanned stops.
